Professional Development for teachers
theartdept provides a range of hands-on professional development workshops to support teachers delivering the New Zealand Curriculum. Whether in your school or off-site, with individual staff or school clusters, during school time or after school, we have a PD option to suit you.
theartdept can come to you and work with teachers and children in classrooms, or with staff in after-school workshops to provide an in-depth and up-to-date curriculum-based art experience. We are open to tailoring the workshops to your needs.
We can work with schools and Early Childhood providers in Otago and Southland or further afield with travel costs included.

After school workshops / in-class programmes
theartdept offers customised after school workshops for teachers, and / or we can work alongside teachers with children in classrooms, featuring in-depth and up-to-date curriculum-based art experiences.
These practical hands-on workshops can be tailored to your needs. Examples of workshops include:
Details: $300 per after-school workshop or $600 for a full days programme in classrooms. This cost covers teaching/artists fees for both Kerry and Pamela. A materials fee may apply depending upon the programme.

Teacher Workshop: "Yayoi Your World"
Dots and Spots in your classroom - visual art ideas exploring shape, pattern, colour and installation.
Kerry and Pamela will introduce you to the world of Yayoi Kusama with lots of art ideas you can grow and develop in your primary classroom or early childhood centre.
Bring your camera to record lots of ideas.

Explore line and shape to tell a story...and find out about artists that will inspire your teaching.
